There are big things on Ross Jamison's young mind. The 18-year old is the overall winner of the Formula BMW Pacific- a 17-race series designed to groom budding racing drivers to international stardom - but he wants more of the good stuff.
Jamison was simply unstoppable in Formula BMW Pacific, topping the driver's standings with 222 points to clinch the overall title ahead of teammate Simon Moss who was third with 132 points and second-placed Sean McDonagh who collected 173 points. Moss' third place finish also ensured he won the Rookie-of-the-Year award.
"The people at the Qi Meritus team have been very helpful. The little things you need to know about your car and the tyres which are all so important to a budding driver like me," said the Hong Kong born Jamison.
There will be a tinge of sadness when he leaves but he reckons it's time for him to test himself elsewhere under different circumstances.
"I am only 18 and I will give myself another five years to make the cut into F1. That's the ultimate for me," said Jamison.
Meritus also retained the team title with 378 points, 99 more than runners-up
E-Rain.
Jamison follows in footsteps of past Meritus drivers like Jazeman Jaafar, Earl Bamber and Marcy Lee who have won this category.
This coming season, two exciting Indonesians, Rio Haryanto, 16 and Dustin Sofyan, 14, will carry Meritus' challenge and strive to carry on the team's winning tradition.
